Meanwhile, if you’re trying to cope with the work from home lifestyle, as a result of coronavirus or because you’ve managed to find a remote-based job.  You’ll need to change some of your routines and schedules to make working from home an amazing success.

Unarguably, working from home can be very challenging.  I’ve been working from home for the past 4 years and have acquired a lot of experience that has to help me to cope and learn how to adjust over the years. 1. Identify and Define your Personal Noms

This involves making your time table, to determine When will you work? What time of the day will you start and stop working? It is also important to find out some days where you might work a few hours at night, and others where you might watch some TV Shows.

However, the bottom line here is to cultivate the habit of judicious time management. Moreover, Whatever your norms are, it’s best to channel them to a time management plan of some sort and stick to it and be consistent.

 

2. Pick the Right Workspace

Working from home can be very fantastic, but depends on who you are, the kind of work you do, and also how prepared you are. It may mean eating decent meals or taking breaks to get some sunlight. Or, it may mean abandoning your bedroom and building a dedicated office space in the living room.

Meanwhile, it is recommendable to avoid setting up a workspace in your bedroom if you can. Working in the same room where you sleep is a huge challenge because it makes it hard to get your brain into sleep mode at night. Whichever option, you want to go for just make sure it’s a space that enables you to focus and eliminates as many distractions as possible.

 

3. Pretend like you are going into the office.

The mental distinction, you make between work and an office. This can make you more productive, and there’s no reason that feeling should be lost when telecommuting. When working from home, do all the things you’d do to prepare for an office role.

So, get out of bed, do the normal morning stuff, then get dressed like you are actually going to work. Otherwise, you might find yourself back in bed.

 

4. Set Ground Rules With the People in Your Space

It is highly recommended that you set up some sort of system to easily let your family know that you’re “at work”  When you’re in work mode. This is because, Unfortunately, one of the fascinating things about working from home is that literally everyone around you thinks that because you’re home, you’re available. If you still have set hours when working from home, trying to get people to understand that you’re not really at home.

 

5. Take Breaks in Their Entirety

Meanwhile, you should not forget to give yourself a break here and there when necessary,  just like when you’re at the office.  You should get up and get away from your computer. However, go to the kitchen and get a snack. Find out what it was your significant other needed so badly 35 minutes ago when you were too busy to talk. Just take 15 minutes to clear your mind.

 

6. Make it harder for yourself to mess around on social media.

Interestingly, the convenience of accessing social media can be the detriment of your productivity. To ensure you stay signed out of all your accounts and each web search you conduct doesn’t autocomplete the word you’re typing. It’s a guarantee that you won’t be tempted into taking too many social breaks during the day.

Meanwhile to counteract your social networks’ ease of use during work hours, remove them from your browser shortcuts and, according to Fast Company, log out of every account.
