Permission For EEA And Switzerland: If you are from the European Economic Area (EEA) countries and Switzerland, you have the right to enter Ireland. However, this could be subject to some narrow restrictions.

There is no need for a Visa, but a passport or valid ID card will be required in order for you to land in Ireland. So, if you have a passport or valid ID, you are eligible to take up residence in Irelan if you are employed or self-employed.

Permission For Other Countries: Nationals outside the United Kingdom, the EEA and Switzerland need permission to enter Ireland as well as permission to remain. Permission shall require the visa and all related documentation. (This does not matter whether you are a family member of the EEA or a Swiss citizen who exercises the right of freedom of travel. But, you may obtain a residency card.)

For those of the EEA countries and Switzerland, you have the same rights as the Irish. You can operate or set up a company in Ireland without a work permit. You can also transfer your family members to Ireland without any limitations.
